Multi Skills
The T.F.A Program
The T.F.A Multi Skills program is primarily devised for 3-5 year olds and is structured in a progressive way that is designed to facilitate children’s skill development. Our structured curriculum follows guidelines set out by the Australian Department of Education, Community and Development, Sports Coach UK and the English Institute of Sport making it the leading program of its kind in the Queensland and Western Australia regions in which it is delivered.
At the heart of the T.F.A multi-skills approach are four core principles of activity:
Control of the body
Movement
Thinking
Body awareness
CMTB or ‘Children Moving and Thinking with Brilliance’ therefore provides the basis for the T.F.A multi-skill program and a sound base for continued involvement in sport or other forms of recreation. This leads to positive health and social benefits for the future. With this in mind, the T.F.A multi skills program is non-sport specific and our coaches actively encourage participation in as many activities/sports as possible to ensure that young children experience a wide range of sports.
The content of our programs curriculum centres on the 3 main aspects of a child's development including the physical (basic fundamentals of moving, this covers agility, balance and co-ordination), the social (sense of emotions, belonging and identity, developing communication skills) and the psychological (positive attitude towards physical activity, working towards solutions, having fun) aspect of sport participation.
In order to deliver the program to the high standards expected, T.F.A has identified the physical ABC’s of sport as essential to this:
